Trump: We ended the war in Gaza, and the attack on Iran helped.
US President Donald Trump announced an agreement to end the war in Gaza, stressing that the negotiations that took place over the past few days had yielded positive results, noting that the recent attack on Iran was "important to reaching this agreement."

During a meeting held at the White House to discuss the details of the agreement on Thursday (October 9, 2025), Trump said that "the prisoner release process will take place next Monday or Tuesday, and the signing ceremony will take place in Egypt."

He added that "the peace we helped achieve in the Middle East will be sustainable, and all countries in the region were in agreement about peace."

Trump expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for what he described as "a wonderful outcome," stressing that Gaza will be rebuilt with international support, and that "several countries will provide significant financial assistance to rebuild the Strip."

He noted that "Hamas lost approximately 70,000 people during the war, and this war must stop," emphasizing that Tehran "wants to work toward peace, and we will work with it."

Trump explained that he would head to the Middle East, where a signing ceremony for the agreement would be held in Egypt.

The Egyptian presidency said that President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed, during a call with President Trump, the necessity of implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement in all its stages.

The presidency added that President el-Sisi extended an invitation to President Trump to participate in a celebration in Egypt to conclude the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

At dawn on Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) had agreed on the first phase of his plan to cease the war and exchange prisoners.

Hamas said the agreement stipulates an end to the war, an Israeli withdrawal, the entry of aid, and a prisoner exchange.

Qatar, which played the role of mediator with Egypt and Turkey, announced an agreement on the terms and mechanisms for implementing the first phase of Trump's plan, which will lead to a ceasefire, the release of detainees and prisoners, and the entry of aid. Details will be announced later.
