On Thursday, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, discussed the exchange of military expertise and the acquisition of technical and technical skills with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Finnish Army, Sami-Antti Takama.
The Joint Operations Command said in a statement, "Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, met with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Finnish Army, Sami-Antti Takama, and the Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Antti Putkonen."
The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them to serve common interests. They also discussed the exchange of expertise, the acquisition of technical and technical skills, and Finland's role within the NATO mission in Iraq."
According to the statement, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations affirmed "Iraq's keenness to build close relations with friendly countries."
For their part, the two guests praised "the great efforts made by the Iraqi security forces to enhance security and thanked the Deputy Chief of Staff for the warm reception and welcome," according to the statement.
