His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and First Lady Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, participated in a cultural evening held by the Arab-Kurdish Cultural Center in Baghdad on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The event was attended by the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, Vice President of the Center, Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, and heads and representatives of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions.
Dr. Abdul Latif highlighted the importance of the Arab-Kurdish Cultural Center and its role in bringing together the components of a single nation and strengthening the bonds of Iraqi society through a culture of active dialogue. He noted that the Center also aspires to disseminate Iraqi culture at the Arab and international levels.
The President emphasized that culture is a fundamental element in the development of societies and the true source of knowledge for producing informed generations that will lead the country to the ranks of advanced nations and peoples in the future.
The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities expressed his pride in the Center's work in bridging cooperation between Arab and Kurdish cultures and promoting literary and intellectual output aimed at consolidating culture in the country and deepening positive relations among the components of society.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Shorsh Khalid Saeed, highlighted the real need for the Arab-Kurdish Cultural Center, which aims to spread peace and culture throughout the country and convey a true image of Iraqi social cohesion to the rest of the world.
Adviser to the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, Ms. Kulchan Kamal, praised the idea of establishing the center and its role in advancing the cultural movement and strengthening cooperation between Arab and Kurdish writers. She emphasized that the Iraqi people aspire to stability and progress, and that the existing cultural diversity is a key strength of the center.
Former Ambassador, Mr. Farid Yassin, described the center as an important step towards spreading culture and knowledge and enriching Iraqi social life.
The former Dean of the College of Languages at Nawroz University, Mr. Hussein Ali Ahmed, emphasized that the center will work to achieve sustainable cultural development and contribute, along with other active cultural institutions, to enriching the cultural and intellectual landscape.
The President of the Republic stresses the role of cultural work in bringing together the components of a single nation.
