Preparations are underway in Baghdad for the "Heritage Song" concert, scheduled for October 21, to revive the country's heritage and musical identity.
An Iraq Times correspondent said, "Preparations and rehearsals are continuing intensively and effectively for the "Heritage Song" concert, scheduled for October 21." He explained that "this event represents an important artistic milestone dedicated to reviving heritage songs that embody the country's artistic and historical identity, reflecting its cultural diversity, musical richness, and the ingenuity of its makers."
He added, "A group of distinguished artists and musicians will participate in the concert, along with artistic groups working to present musical performances that blend authenticity with contemporary creativity in a highly professional manner, in a meticulous attempt to re-present heritage with a modern spirit that preserves its essence and keeps pace with contemporary taste and modern reality."
To spread musical culture and deliver it to the most interested and concerned audience, the Department of Musical Arts invited the public, media, and cultural organizations "to attend this heritage artistic event and contribute to supporting the efforts made to preserve the authentic musical heritage, which has not been easy, and to preserve it in the national cultural memory."
