The Central Bank of Iraq has warned citizens against dealing with entities and individuals claiming to represent it.

The bank said in a statement, "The Central Bank of Iraq warns citizens, especially retirees, against dealing with any entities or individuals impersonating or claiming to represent the Central Bank and requesting personal information or official documents such as retirement IDs or financial information."

The Central Bank emphasized that "no licensed financial institution requests any information related to citizens' cards, accounts, or financial information, and does not offer loans or request documents via social media or by phone."
The bank explained that "any such request is considered a fraudulent attempt aimed at exploiting citizens and stealing their banking information."

The bank continued, "Please do not provide any unofficial entity with any personal or financial information, and immediately report any suspicious contact or message through the official channels of the Central Bank or the relevant security authorities."
