Government advisor: 75% of the development road designs have been completed, and funding will extend over five years.
The Prime Minister's Advisor for Transportation Affairs, Nasser Al-Asadi, announced on Tuesday that the detailed designs for the Development Road have reached advanced stages. He noted that the budget has allocated funding for the Development Road project over a five-year period.

Al-Asadi said: "The designs for the Development Road have reached advanced stages, with approximately 75 percent of the detailed designs completed. All that remains is to contract with the consulting firm that will review these designs and engineering details."

He added that "field work is currently underway, particularly on the Faw Port projects, as the five port projects are part of the Development Road project." He noted that "there are also projects related to the railway and the highway, and these are currently dependent on the construction and engineering details that we await review by the specialized consultant."

He pointed out that "major international companies will be invited to implement the Development Road project, and local companies will also be present within the project. However, international companies will be responsible for implementation due to the project's need for high-level expertise and technology."

Regarding funding, Al-Asadi confirmed that "the state's general budget has allocated funding for the development road project over a period of five years."
