A major campaign in Baghdad covers 15 squares.
Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday the closure of 15 unofficial parking garages and the arrest of a number of violators. The command said in a statement, "The Baghdad Operations Commander ordered the implementation of a large-scale campaign to inspect and monitor the garages and detect violations that constitute encroachment on public and private property. This campaign will be implemented through the Garage Follow-up Committee within our command, with support from Baghdad Municipality departments and the occupying units. During the campaign, 15 garages were closed for violating the applicable terms and conditions, and a number of violators were arrested for exploiting main roads and sidewalks to park vehicles and illegally collect money from citizens. These measures come out of our concern for the safety and security of citizens and the preservation of public and private property."
