Russian security services told TASS that eight Ukrainian soldiers surrendered in the past 24 hours in the Kharkiv region, while reports indicated desertions from their military positions. Meanwhile, Ukraine stated that the number of Russian military casualties had risen to approximately 1,151,070.

A security source told TASS: "Demoralized Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers are surrendering en masse along the front lines of the Northern Group in the Kharkiv region. Eight Ukrainian soldiers surrendered in the past 24 hours, and more are deserting their positions (through what is known as unauthorized withdrawals of their units)."

Earlier, Russian security services told TASS that soldiers from the 159th Separate Motorized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region were surrendering en masse.

The Ukrainian military announced on Sunday that the number of Russian military casualties since the start of the war on Ukrainian territory on February 24, 2022, has risen to approximately 1,151,070, including 970 killed or wounded in the past 24 hours.

This information was released in a statement published by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on its Facebook page and reported by the Ukrainian National News Agency (Ukrinform) on Sunday.

According to the statement, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 11,335 tanks, 23,545 armored fighting vehicles, 34,340 artillery systems, 1,538 multiple rocket launcher systems, and 1,239 air defense systems since the beginning of the war.
