Prime Minister: Our relationship with countries in the region and the world is based on economic partnerships.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed on Saturday that the majority of the forces within the Coordination Framework are committed to forming a strong government capable of confronting future challenges. He also noted that Iraq's relations with countries in the region and the world are based on economic partnerships.

In an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV, which was monitored by Iraq Times Agency, al-Sudani stated that "citizens expect the results of their participation in the elections to be reflected in improved services, living standards, and the economy, as well as the establishment of security and stability in the country and the strengthening of its pivotal role." He emphasized that "the voter turnout is evidence of the level of satisfaction and confidence in the government's executive performance, and these factors motivated citizens to participate widely in the elections."

He added, "Our foreign relations are based on the interests of Iraq and the Iraqi people, and this is our priority. The sovereignty of the country, its territorial integrity, and the safety of its people are non-negotiable, and we will fight for them." He clarified, "We maintain our principled positions on strategic issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and Iraq's position is among the clearest, both officially and publicly." He continued: “Our relations with the countries of the region and the world are based on economic partnerships, given Iraq’s geostrategic location and its vast natural and human resources.” He added, “We were keen to spare Iraq from war and not give the occupying entity’s government any pretext, as its goal was to expand the conflict since October 7th. We affirmed to all parties that the Iraqi state is responsible for security and stability and that it alone holds the power to decide on war and peace.”

He pointed out that “our relations with all our Arab brothers are based on a single, consistent principle, without any discrimination. We cherish our deep Arab ties and our interests with them, commensurate with their engagement with us.” He emphasized that “our position towards our brothers in Lebanon is unwavering, and the support we have provided at every stage is part of our duty and an appreciation for their resistance to the treacherous aggression.”
