The extent of the damage inflicted on Basra's oil fields by drone attacks has been revealed.
The Director General of Basra Oil Company, Basim Abdul Karim, revealed on Sunday the extent of the damage inflicted on the province's oil fields by drone attacks.

In a press statement, Abdul Karim said, "Yesterday, at 5:00 AM, some of our oil facilities were attacked by drones. A number of fields were struck, specifically the Rumaila, Majnoon, and Burjesia fields."

He added, "At the Burjesia site, one of the Iraqi companies, Al-Majal (which provides oil services to Basra Oil Company), was directly hit by a drone, resulting in a large fire in the food storage facility and some of the company's offices."

He continued, "At the Majnoon field, the offices were set ablaze and destroyed. These offices were built by Basra Oil Company. At the Rumaila field, two oilfield services companies, Baker Hughes and Schlumberger, sustained significant material damage to their offices due to the drone attacks."

He explained that "these operations are not the first, but rather the fourth or fifth such attack in recent times. The Rumaila field has previously been targeted, in addition to a large fire at the Yorton site. Strikes have also been repeated on the Majnoon field, which is constantly subjected to drone flights, impacting the field's operations and the new offices and buildings constructed by the Basra Oil Company."

Abdul Karim pointed out that "current production is local to meet domestic needs," explaining that "the Basra Oil Company is currently producing approximately 900,000 barrels per day to supply refineries and gas plants. The gas being utilized is associated gas produced during oil production and is used to operate power plants." Regarding the fuel situation in the province,
