The Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced on Sunday that it had obtained the approval of Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi to allocate a percentage of job positions within the Ministries of Interior and Defense to orphans in care homes who have reached the age of eighteen and meet the legal and physical requirements.
The head of the Commission, Dhikra Abdul Rahim, stated that "this approval represents a true fruit of the Commission's efforts in following up on the issues of orphans," noting that "empowering them and providing opportunities that preserve their dignity and stability is a priority for the Ministry."
She added that "allocating these positions will contribute to opening new horizons for orphans to obtain a stable source of income, and will enhance their ability to build their future and become self-reliant, as well as utilize their capabilities to serve the nation."
She pointed out that "this step reflects the government's and the Ministry's commitment to empowering and supporting orphans, transforming their suffering into a success story, and opening doors to the future for them with confidence and hope."
