Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi confirmed on Thursday that the government is currently preparing the 2027 budget and will soon submit it to Parliament.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release received by Iraq Times Agency that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi met today, Thursday, with members of the Sadiqun parliamentary bloc, headed by MP Uday Awad al-Tamimi. They discussed several national issues related to improving development and public services in all governorates, strengthening cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, and supporting the government's efforts in implementing reforms and combating corruption."

The Prime Minister emphasized "the important and fundamental role of the legislative branch in strengthening government procedures and enabling it to implement its program, as well as the importance of its oversight and legislative role in combating corruption through monitoring performance in state institutions."

He indicated that "the government is currently preparing the 2027 budget, which will be sent to Parliament soon," stressing "the implementation of the government's plan to increase oil production and exports in the coming years," and noting that "a significant portion of the budget has been allocated to the electricity sector."
