Dhi Qar Governorate witnessed the launch of the Nasiriyah Sports Marathon on Friday, marking Iraqi National Day. The event saw widespread participation from athletes and residents of the governorate, and was supported by state institutions and service departments.
Dhi Qar Governor Murtada al-Ibrahimi said, "We congratulate the people of Dhi Qar Governorate on the Iraqi National Day. Under the direction of the Prime Minister, we held a sports marathon today, starting from the Technical Institute and ending at the Nasiriyah International Stadium. This will be a national occasion that we commemorate with youth and sports activities."
For his part, Dhi Qar Director of Youth and Sports, Muhannad al-Sahlani, explained that "the governorate witnessed a beautiful sports carnival today with the Dhi Qar Marathon, in which a large number of the governorate's residents participated." He extended his thanks and appreciation to all the players and supporting agencies that contributed to the success of this national event.
