Iraq output rises as OPEC production increases in September
Iraq lifted crude production in September in line with a broader rise across OPEC, after the producer group and its allies moved to relax supply curbs, a Reuters survey showed.

OPEC members pumped a total of 28.40 million barrels per day last month, about 330,000 barrels more than in August.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates delivered the largest increases, while Iraq also added barrels under its September quota.

Baghdad was due to expand output along with four other members by 415,000 barrels per day, though that figure was reduced by compensation cuts for Iraq, Kuwait and the UAE to offset earlier overproduction. Actual additions from the group came to 347,000 barrels per day, according to Reuters’ survey.

Iraq, the second-largest OPEC producer, remains heavily dependent on oil revenue and often struggles to stay within its assigned limits, with some outside agencies suggesting its real output is higher than official figures.
